Does anyone have a 504 plan instead of an IEP? If a school isn't willing to write an IEP but they are willing to write a 504, what's the difference? Does a 504 really help in the way an IEP does? Are there success stories for people who have a 504?

Here is a good simple explanation of the difference:

Well, that comparison says it all doesn't it.

My 4th grade Aspie is in the process of going from an IEP to a 504.  I'm very nervous.  In addition, we will be moving by the end of this year from Manchester, where he has been doing so well to Nashua so that I can be closer to work.  I hear good things about the Nashua schools but would love to know which school might be the best fit for him.  Any advice?  He will be in the 5th grade when we move.
