iPrompts - New Autism Technology
I just downloaded the new iPrompts application on my iPhone and I bought an iPod for my providers. I haven't had enough time to give a review yet but Sarah LOVES it. The visual for her is so good. I used it last night and she asked immediately for the schedule I did, "Where's IPod? First medicine then ..." This was seeing it 3 times. I have two IPods ordered for the Gateways Autism Center and should be here soon for families to try some of the apps they have out. It is so nice to offer "Try it before you buy it." A few of us are going to the Apps Bootcamp in July for the new apps so I should have even more apps and an understanding of them by the end of July. If anyone is using apps I would love some feedback.

I went to an apps class that was great. What types of things were you thinking of? There are some great apps to make social stories. Both my kids play "First Words" to keep busy and Bubble Snap is quick and keeps them busy when I need it. Tap Tap is another good one. Story Chimes is good for "I want to read" or "Read along." My girls are in to the 3 Little Pigs right now. Shape Builder LITE is a free app to do puzzles. If there are specific things let me know and I'm sure the others will have input too.

What about iPrompts is it that makes it so helpful? Is it like a portable schedule that can be changed at a moment's notice? If you do make changes or additions, how does your daughter react to them?

Lucky for me my daughter gets excited to see new pictures but we do have to work through some of them since they may not be highly motivating to her. The nice thing about it is the ability to take the pictures with my phone and slide them right in the app in seconds.
