Moving
HI everyone,
Happy Holidays! We are moving just after Christmas vacation and my child will be going to a new school. We have not broached the subject of the new school yet(change is terrible for him). I was wondering if anyone knows a good book to introduce this subject. He is 6 and very smart. Thanks for any suggestions in advance.

Do social stories help? I'm sure there is one for transition to new school or one you could use as a template. As for books, I've see them for transition to middle and high school. Sorry I don't know a specific book.

Hi Michelle, I finally have a chance to write back. The move went well and we are settling in. I don't know if anything was helpful in the transition besides just talking about it a lot! It is helpful that his new school is more supportive so they are giving him what he needs.
How are you guys? I hope all is well. I am going to try to go to the support group next week so maybe, I will see you there.
