My son has been going to OT at the same place for over four years now. He had a serious tantrum last week and we were just told that if it happens again, he will not be allowed to return. I love his OT and so doesn't he so it is very disappointing. Does anyone have any ideas on how to make it more successful or any OT's in the area that are great?See More

Do social stories help? I'm sure there is one for transition to new school or one you could use as a template. As for books, I've see them for transition to middle and high school. Sorry I don't know a specific book.

HI everyone,Happy Holidays! We are moving just after Christmas vacation and my child will be going to a new school. We have not broached the subject of the new school yet(change is terrible for him). Early intervention is the most important step and your diagnosis is the first step. Aug 17 is ok as the program won't start until September. I don't know much about services for Asperger's (my son has regular autism), but as his advocate get ready to fight! Insurance companies love to deny services just cause.
