Connect with Autism News, Resources, & Supports in Nashua, New Hampshire
November 3rd, I attended “A Conversation with John Elder Robinson.” John Is the Author of Look me in the Eye and his new book Be Different. These are stories about his experiences growing up with aspergers and his new adult reflections and realizations. He hopes by sharing these personal stories it will educate others and help other children with aspergers have an easier transition into society and understand the social skill issues they are lacking. He talks about many different scenarios from bullying to his most stressed point of what socially labeled weird thing your kid is interested in will be their successful career. John, as many other people with aspergers, talked very candid. There was also a great element of humor in his stories. He was a pleasure to listen to and is a great role model for kids with disabilities showing them they too can be successful.
